Donations Requested for WVIZ/PBS Televised Auction
Donors Receive Valuable On-Air Promotion and Tax Deduction

The 2010 WVIZ/PBS Televised Auction begins April 29, and volunteers are already canvassing their communities asking local businesses and individuals to make tax-deductible donations to this important fundraiser for public broadcasting in Northeast Ohio.

Local, regional and national businesses are generously signing on to participate in the “Auction Action” in support of WVIZ/PBS.  Early donations include: the use of a Cleveland Indians Suite; a bicycle tour of New Hampshire with stays at romantic country inns; dinners at some of Northeast Ohio’s best restaurants; a Caribbean escape at Beaches Resorts that celebrates Sesame Street’s 40th anniversary; sporting goods; trips to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia and Kissimmee, Florida; antiques and collectibles; artwork in a variety of mediums, and many other exciting donations. Donors receive significant promotional benefits and a tax deduction for their participation.

WVIZ/PBS needs nearly 2,000 donations to raise the $500,000 goal of this year’s “Sale-A-Bration.” Donated products and services are eligible for on-the-air television promotion and web promotion.  All donations are tax-deductible.

For information on how to donate or to make a donation, visit wviz.org/auction or call the WVIZ/PBS Auction office at 216-916-6154.

The 2010 WVIZ/PBS Televised Auction is made possible through generous support from: Eaton Corporation, KeyBank, ArcelorMittal, Nordson Corporation, and PNC.  Additional support is provided by Dominion, Greater Cleveland RTA, The Plain Dealer and Rockwell Automation Systems.
