Beyond the Dish: Mike's Place
ideastream's Lauren Wilson hits the road again on a quest to find some of the most unique & interesting stories at local eateries in Northeast Ohio, for our new segment Beyond the Dish. Last month, Lauren visited Chef Eric Williams' unique twist on Mexican food and culture at his spot on Cleveland's near west side, Momocho. Her next stop? Well, let's just say it might look a little familiar if you're acquainted with the 1970s show, Sanford & Son.

Images of America: Cleveland Area Disasters
In 1969, Cleveland became the brunt of national jokes after the Cuyahoga River caught on fire. But there was nothing funny about the root cause of that disaster: years of oil spills and toxic waste that polluted the river and killed most of the aquatic life. The burning river is just one of many tragic Northeast Ohio events that have been documented in a new book called "Images of America: Cleveland Area Disasters," written by Calvin Rydbom and Thomas Kubat.Nikki Giovanni, author, "Chasing Utopia"
